Partner brief · for IT support firms & MSPs

You support the network. We put it in.

Astral is a Unifi installer in Sheffield covering Yorkshire. We do structured cabling, WiFi design, CCTV and door access — and nothing else. No helpdesk, no Microsoft 365, no managed contracts. There is no version of this where we end up competing with you for your own client.

The problem this solves

The cabling job you can't say yes to, and don't want to say no to.

A client is moving office. The warehouse WiFi drops every time the racking moves. They want cameras. It isn't work you're set up for, but the request lands with you because you're who they trust with anything that plugs in.

Saying no sends them looking, and whoever they find is now standing in your client's server room with an opinion about their IT. Saying yes and subcontracting blind puts your reputation on someone you've never watched work.

We'd like to be the third option: a specialist you can hand it to, who makes you look good and has no route to your recurring revenue.

Two ways to work together

Pick whichever suits the client.

Model A

Referral

You introduce. We contract directly.

Simplest to run. You make the introduction, step back, and we handle survey, quote, installation and support.

  • No admin, no risk, no invoicing
  • You're copied on the design and the handover
  • We tell you before we set foot on site

10% of install value£230–£1,500 on a typical commercial job. Paid on completion.

Model B

White label

We quote you. You own the client.

For when you'd rather the work stayed under your name. We quote you trade and you set your own margin.

  • Unbranded on site, in your client's name
  • Documentation issued to you to reissue
  • You invoice the client; we invoice you

Trade pricingYour margin is yours to set. We never see what you charge.

Where the line sits

What we do, and what we will never do.

We do

  • Cat6 / Cat6a structured cabling, patch panels and comms cabinets
  • Unifi WiFi survey, design and installation
  • Managed switching, VLANs, firewall and IDS/IPS
  • Unifi Protect CCTV and on-site NVR
  • Unifi Access door entry and access control
  • Multi-site architecture and as-built documentation

We don't

  • Helpdesk or end-user support
  • Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or identity
  • Servers, backup or disaster recovery
  • Managed IT contracts of any kind
  • Software, licensing or procurement
  • Anything that looks like your recurring revenue

In writing, in the agreement: we do not sell managed IT services, and we will not approach a client you introduce about anything outside the scope you brought us in for.

If a client you introduced asks us for something we don't do, the answer is always "speak to your IT company." Every time.

How a job runs

Four steps, and you can be as involved as you like.

  1. Introduction. An email with the client's name and roughly what they need. That's the whole ask.
  2. Survey. We attend site and scope the work properly rather than guessing off a floor plan. £250 for a commercial survey, credited in full against the install.
  3. Design and quote. A written network design and a fixed quote — theirs to keep either way, and copied to you.
  4. Install and handover. Fitted, labelled, documented and tested, with a 12-month workmanship guarantee. Optional monitoring at £19/month.

For a client who isn't ready to commit, our £250 Business Network Blueprint is an easy first step — a full survey and written plan they own outright, with no obligation to use us for the work.

Coverage

Where we'll travel, honestly.

We're Sheffield-based, so response time genuinely varies by distance. Rather than claim uniform coverage, here's what to expect — useful if you're deciding which of your clients to introduce first.

Core patchSame-week survey, usually next-day for anything urgent.
Regular runComfortably within range. Survey typically within the week.
Planned workWe travel for these — booked in rather than dropped in.

We're a young firm and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we'd rather do than make claims is show you the work: come and look at a finished install, or give us one job — the smallest, most awkward one you've got — and judge us on that.

Worth a conversation?

Fifteen minutes on the phone is enough to work out whether this is useful to you. No pitch deck, and nothing to sign to find out.
