Halifax and the Calder Valley are about 50 minutes from our Sheffield base. This is proper Pennine stone country, and some of the most WiFi-hostile buildings we work in. From hillside terraces above the town to weavers' cottages out towards Hebden Bridge and the offices around Dean Clough, we install Unifi networks, whole-property WiFi, CCTV and access control.
Calderdale properties are heavy gritstone with metre-thick walls in places, often split-level against the hillside. A single router simply cannot cover them, and mesh pods struggle through solid stone. We survey room by room and cable access points where the signal actually needs to originate. The converted mills around Dean Clough and Sowerby Bridge make superb offices but need proper structured cabling and VLAN design to perform. That is bread-and-butter Unifi work for us.
