What we collect and why
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and carry out work you ask us to do.
- When you book a call or submit the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, property or business location, and whatever you tell us about the job. We use this to respond, quote and arrange a survey.
- When you become a customer: the above plus site details, work carried out and payment records.
- When you browse: your IP address and standard server log data. If you accept optional cookies, also analytics and advertising measurement data.
Our lawful bases
- Contract — to quote for and carry out work you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, keep records of work and secure our website. We consider this proportionate because you contacted us and the data is limited to what the enquiry requires.
- Consent — for optional analytics and advertising cookies. You can withdraw this at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep financial records for the period tax law requires.
Cookies
Essential cookies and local storage make the site work and remember your cookie choice. These do not need consent. Optional cookies are only set if you accept them.
Until you accept, Google's advertising tag runs in a restricted, cookieless mode and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will bring the banner back.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use the following providers:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Calendly | Booking the free discovery call. Loaded only when you click a booking button, not on page load. | Name, email address, phone number and any notes you enter when booking. |
| Formspree | Delivering the contact form to us by email. | Whatever you type into the contact form, plus your IP address. |
| Google (Google Ads) | Measuring which adverts lead to enquiries. Until you accept, the tag runs in a cookieless mode and sets no cookies. | Cookie identifiers and interaction events. Only after you accept optional cookies. |
| Microsoft Clarity | Understanding how the site is used, so we can improve it. Not loaded at all unless you accept optional cookies. | Pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, in an anonymised session recording. |
| Vercel | Hosting this website. Necessary to serve the site. | Standard server logs, including IP address, for security and reliability. |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Messaging us, if you choose to. Only if you click a WhatsApp link. | Whatever you send, handled under WhatsApp's own terms. |
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred abroad, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: TODO: e.g. 24 months from last contact
- Customer and job records: TODO: e.g. 6 years after the end of the contract
