The honest version

A system, not a drawer of gadgets.

Most homes end up with security by accident: a video doorbell from one firm, a couple of cameras from another, an alarm nobody arms because it is on a third app. Each works on its own and none of them work together. We fit the whole thing as one system instead, surveyed to the house, so the doorbell, the cameras, the sensors and the alarm live on a single app and actually back each other up.

It runs on Unifi Protect, which means it records to kit kept in your home rather than a cloud that charges every month. You own it outright, there is no subscription to us or anyone else, and nothing you have paid for is locked behind a plan. That is the real difference from Ring, a DIY kit or a monitored contract with a firm like Verisure, and our guide to smart home security weighs those options in full.

Built on a network that can carry it

A security system is only as steady as the network under it. Cameras, sensors and the doorbell are all devices on your WiFi and wiring, and the housing across our patch is hard on both: thick stone walls in the terraces and a lot of ground to cover in the larger detached homes. We survey coverage, put in the access points and cabling the system needs, and only then hang the security on top, so it does not drop out at the far end of the garden or the top floor. It is the same platform as the CCTV we fit, scaled to a home.

What a proper setup includes

For most homes that is cameras on the real approaches rather than a token one over the door, a doorbell that records to your own system, entry and motion sensors, and an alarm that ties in with the rest. We spec it at the survey around how you live and where the house is actually vulnerable, fit it tidily, and hand it over tested with the footage and the app in your hands. We cover homes right across Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

Questions

Common questions,
answered plainly.

Is there a monthly subscription?

No. We build on Unifi Protect, which records to kit kept in your home, so there is no monthly fee and no footage held to ransom behind a plan. That is the main reason people move to it from Ring or Verisure: once it is in, it is yours.

How is this different from a Ring or Verisure setup?

Ring and DIY kits are quick but lean on the cloud and a subscription, and alarm firms like Verisure tie you into a monitored contract. We fit a properly surveyed system you own outright, on one app, with cameras, sensors, a doorbell and an alarm that work together rather than as separate gadgets.

Can you add to an alarm or cameras I already have?

Sometimes. If what you have is sound we build around it, but mixing platforms is often what makes a system fiddly and unreliable, so we will tell you honestly when starting from one platform is the better value rather than bolting more onto a patchwork.

Does it need a good network to work?

Yes, and that is where we start. Cameras, sensors and the doorbell are devices on your network, so coverage and a bit of wiring decide whether the system is rock solid or drops out. We build the network and the security together, which is the advantage of one company doing both.

Where do you cover?

Across Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, worked from our Sheffield and Manchester bases, usually with survey and install dates inside the same week.
